(An e-mail that has been traveling back and forth between our Next Step editor and I since 2003!)
Hi. I am thinking of you and wanted to share this about
what I feel and think about the program, and how grateful I am to be alive and have you in my wonderful circle of friends. When I am exhausted sometimes I get more clarity. On the way home from work tonight I thought of this; If I quit and run away from
the program and return to my old way of existence, because it was a poor and limited life, I am surrendering to the disease, submitting to death and insanity, instead of surrendering to God and OA/AA. Those are my choices at this moment. I will never be perfect, so I must let go of perfection and pride. Then I can go out and do something, and try to do my best. Doing service is taking action and submitting to doing the right thing, not always an easy job. By the grace of God I will continue to submit to my heavenly Father's will instead of my will to die. Pray for the answer and expect Grace.
