Although I never thought about it quite like that, it is completely and utterly true. When I broke my ankle in Ensenada, Mexico while on a shore excursion from my cruis ship, I could have chosen to be angry and depressed and miserable, but I took a few moments and thought what getting upset was going to change, and my answer was "nothing". So I chose to go through the whole excursion with a broken ankle which was confirmed by the doctor at an Ensenada Hospital and casted. I was transported back to the ship and it wasn't until I got on board that I actually even cried. But I kept my good attitude determining that there wasn't anything I could do to make it better other than change the way I looked at it and find a lesson in the struggle.
Attitude is the difference between misery and happiness although I didn't really look at it quite this way until I read this thought for the day! Thank you!
